We are an EdTech and innovation platform on a mission to arm Africa's next generation with the digital skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and real-world capabilities to lead — not just participate — in the global digital economy.
From a bold idea born in Nairobi to East Africa's most forward-thinking EdTech platform — here is where it all began.
The name was not chosen by accident. Tekimu is a word built from two Swahili pillars — Teknolojia, meaning technology, and Elimu, meaning education. Put them together and you get the entire philosophy of this company in a single word. Technology. Education. And the belief that the two, combined, are the most powerful force for transformation this continent has ever seen.
It started with a conversation — the kind that happens late at night when people who care deeply about a problem stop complaining and start building. Two directors sat with a question that refused to leave them alone: why is Africa, with the youngest and fastest-growing population on Earth, still importing talent and exporting opportunity? The continent was producing graduates who could not find work, and companies that could not find skilled people. Something was fundamentally broken — and it was not the people. It was the system.
Africa's youth were not lacking ambition. They were lacking access. Access to the right training. Access to mentors who had actually built things. Access to environments that felt less like classrooms and more like the real world they were preparing to enter. The gap between what schools were teaching and what the digital economy was demanding had grown into a chasm — and it was widening every year.
So Tekimu Technologies Limited was founded in Nairobi in 2026 — not as a school, and not as a startup incubator, but as something in between. A living, breathing infrastructure for the next generation of African innovators. A place where a young person from any background could walk in, learn the skills that actually matter, build real things, connect with real mentors, and walk out ready to compete — not just locally, but globally.
Because talent is universal. The only thing that has ever separated those who shape the future from those who inherit it is access — and Tekimu exists to close that gap, one learner at a time.
Tekimu Technologies Limited was born out of a clear and urgent observation: Africa's youth were being left behind in a rapidly accelerating digital world. Only one in three secondary students reached STEM proficiency, and fewer than a quarter of young Africans had access to quality digital skills training. Two directors — driven by that gap — founded Tekimu in Nairobi with a simple conviction: talent is universal; opportunity must be too.
Nairobi, KenyaThe education arm — Tekimu Hub — launched as a physical and digital learning space where learners could train in Digital Marketing, Software Development, AI Tools & Prompt Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, and Cybersecurity. Not theory. Not slides. Real skills, real mentorship, real outcomes. The Hub was designed to feel less like a school and more like an innovation lab — because that is exactly what Africa's next generation deserves.
Tekimu Hub LaunchedToday, Tekimu is actively partnering with private schools, corporates, government bodies and development agencies to deliver curriculum-aligned tech education at scale. We are laying the foundations for an AI-powered learning platform that will reach learners across East Africa and beyond. We are not simply teaching coding — we are developing the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
Scaling Across AfricaPhase 3 of our roadmap is a fully proprietary AI-powered learning platform — adaptive, intelligent, and built for African contexts. From NLP tutors to auto-grading systems, predictive student analytics to generative curriculum tools, Tekimu's future is not just about teaching technology. It is about being technology.
Coming SoonWe hold the highest standards in curriculum design, instructor quality, and learning outcomes. Good enough is never good enough here.
Experimentation is not a risk — it is a requirement. We build thinkers who question, iterate, and create from first principles.
Quality tech education must reach every learner regardless of socioeconomic background. Opportunity cannot be gated by geography or income.
Every program connects directly to career pathways and market demand. We train for tomorrow's jobs, not yesterday's curriculum.
We are not just instructors — we are builders of builders. Every graduate leaves with the confidence to create, lead, and innovate.
Education is national infrastructure. We treat it that way — building the digital backbone that Africa's future economy will run on.
Tekimu Hub is where learners become builders. A physical and digital innovation space in Nairobi offering hands-on, instructor-led training in the world's most in-demand digital disciplines — designed from the ground up for Africa's next generation.
Hands-on digital skills training for Africa's next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
The scale of Africa's digital skills gap is matched only by the scale of the opportunity to close it.
